H.E. Remigio Martín Maradona is an international public servant, diplomat, and humanitarian advocate serving as the Secretary-General of IIMSAM, a treaty-based intergovernmental organization accredited as a Permanent Observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). As Secretary-General, he leads IIMSAM’s global initiatives focused on combating malnutrition, food insecurity, and micronutrient deficiencies through the sustainable and scientific use of Spirulina and other beneficial micro-algae. Under his leadership, the Organization continues to strengthen international cooperation, humanitarian outreach, public health initiatives, and sustainable nutrition programs aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, H.E. Remigio Martín Maradona has dedicated his life to humanitarian service, social inclusion, and international cooperation. Having overcome childhood polio at an early age, his personal journey has inspired a longstanding commitment to public service, disability advocacy, and global humanitarian development. He pursued higher education in the United States, studying Political Science, History, and International Public Administration, before beginning his international engagement through work associated with the United Nations in the mid-1980s. Over the years, he has contributed to healthcare advocacy, public policy, institutional relations, and humanitarian development initiatives across international platforms. Under his stewardship, IIMSAM continues to collaborate with governments, international organizations, research institutions, and humanitarian partners to promote sustainable nutritional solutions and support vulnerable communities worldwide. His leadership emphasizes innovation, international collaboration, and practical approaches to advancing nutrition security, public health, and sustainable development.
